Cocktails on the Balcony

We were able to spend a couple of weekends enjoying Madison and took advantage of a lovely evening to enjoy some cocktails on our balcony (notice the fancy Solo cups and collapsible chairs we keep at our swanky digs), discussing life and enjoying the views of the capital. We are also slowly working our way through all the local diners since we don't really cook at our condo as yet.  The last trip was a repeat visit to Monte's Blue Plate diner where we had previously enjoyed dinner to see how their breakfast fared.  Quite well in my opinion as my eggs Benedict and Jo's pancakes didn't disappoint.  Later that weekend we took in the annual Madison bratfest (still claiming to be the largest based on the number of brats served - like that would be easy to confirm independently) and this year splurged for an official T-shirt so now others can know of our accomplishment.

For one of the weekends we were joined by our good friends from CT, Sheri and Bruno, who were in town for a pharmaceutical conference.  After a way too big breakfast we headed out for a nice long walk to Picnic Point and then a stroll along State Street enjoying the car show before catching up on all the news from CT and Pfizer before they had to head to their event.

Lastly, for those keeping track of Jo's ongoing surgical rebuild of her body.  Her right thumb cast has been removed and she is now working to rebuild the strength and mobility.  So both hands are relatively pain free for the first time in years - yeah!!
