Bread and Butter Pickles

Can't believe a week has already gone by since I last posted something.  I just finished watching the gold medal match for women's soccer and I'm glad that the US team came out ahead.  Put what a stroke inducing game to watch.

We had a very quiet weekend with no plans and we enjoyed having a completely unplanned weekend.  Friday night we harvested our garden pulling in the last of the lettuce along with another crop of beans.  We also got our first cucumbers and our tomatoes are coming way too fast as they all ripen at the same time.  We then spent the rest of the evening preparing and freezing our beans so we have some ready come winter time.  Saturday after our morning run we cut up the cucumbers and made several jars of bread and butter pickles.  This is our favorite thing to do with our home grown cucumbers.  Then after going to the gym for some weight lifting and lunch, Jo headed out to do some shopping and I caught up on some reading.  Our evening was a quiet night of watching the Olympics and a dinner of brats, our fresh beans and salad.

Sunday after our usual morning exercising, we walked over to Bradford Beach to watch the finals in an AVP beach volleyball match that was being played there over the weekend.  It was a great game to watch with beautiful weather and made both of us miss our volleyball playing days.  The rest of the day we worked at various chores around the house and got ourselves ready for another work week.  Work week was pretty standard with me painting storm windows and Jo doing her HR thing.
